Plain summary
The Live Like Ethan Arts Foundation operates this website and the Stage Finder service at shows.live-like-ethan.com. Anyone may browse our event listings without signing in. If you sign in, donate, or apply for a scholarship, the terms below apply.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You must be at least 18 to make a donation.
What the Foundation provides
Stage Finder is a free service that aggregates theatre and performing arts events across Southern California and Broadway. We make best efforts to keep show information accurate, but showtimes, ticket availability, and event details are ultimately the responsibility of the venues and producers. The Foundation does not sell tickets, run shows, or directly produce events.
The Foundation funds scholarships and theatre programs. Scholarship awards and grant decisions are made by the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
What we expect from you
- Don’t scrape the site programmatically without our written permission.
- Don’t attempt to disrupt, probe, or break the service.
- Don’t impersonate other people or misrepresent your identity.
- Don’t submit unlawful, harassing, or fraudulent content if user-generated content surfaces are introduced.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if these expectations aren’t met.
Donations
Donations are voluntary and processed by Stripe. The Live Like Ethan Arts Foundation is a California nonprofit corporation; 501(c)(3) status is pending with the IRS. Until that determination letter arrives, tax-deductibility cannot be promised; once the IRS approves our application, contributions will be tax-deductible retroactively to the date of formation per standard IRS practice.
Donation receipts are emailed automatically once payment clears.
Refunds are available within 30 days of a donation only in cases of technical error (duplicate charge, incorrect amount, or similar). Refunds for changes of heart are at the Foundation’s discretion.
Donors may request anonymous status at the time of donation. Anonymous requests are honored absolutely — your name, the amount, and any identifying details are excluded from public lists, donor recognition, and communications.
Account termination
You can delete your account at any time by emailing the address below.
We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms.
Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided “as is.” We don’t guarantee the accuracy of third-party show data, ticket pricing, or showtimes. We don’t endorse any particular venue, production, or external link. Use the site with the same judgment you’d use for any directory of events.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by California law, the Foundation’s total liability for any claim arising out of your use of this site is capped at the greater of $100 or the total amount you have donated to the Foundation in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Nothing in this section limits liability for matters that California law does not permit us to disclaim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll post the updated version here. For material changes, we’ll also email anyone with an active account.
