Privacy Policy
At a glance
The Live Like Ethan Arts Foundation collects only what we need to run our website, deliver donation receipts, and let users save shows on Stage Finder. We share data only with the third-party services that power those functions — Supabase, Stripe, Google, Vercel, and Resend. We do not sell data, run advertising, or share information beyond what’s described below.
Information we collect
Visitors who don’t log in. We log standard web request information — IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and timestamps. These logs help us diagnose problems and protect the site against abuse. We do not run tracking pixels or third-party analytics.
Users who sign in.Sign-in is optional and exists for personalization on Stage Finder. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and, if you’ve shared them with Google, your display name and profile photo. Once signed in, we store the shows and venues you’ve starred on your watchlist, any saved search filters you create on the calendar, and your regional preference (SoCal, SD, OC, LA, or All).
Donors. When you make a donation, Stripe processes the payment and sends us the donation amount, date, the email address and name you provide for your receipt, and any optional message you choose to include for the Foundation. We never receive or store your full card number — Stripe handles that and is PCI compliant.
How we use this information
We use what we collect for four purposes only:
- To run the website and Stage Finder — showing you your watchlist, saving your search, remembering your region.
- To process your donation and email you a receipt.
- To communicate with you about your donations or, where you’ve signed in, about your account.
- To meet our tax and legal obligations as a California nonprofit corporation.
That’s it. We don’t use your data for advertising, profiling, or third-party marketing.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the services that power the Foundation’s operations, and only for the purposes named below:
- Supabase (United States) hosts our database and handles authentication. Account records and donation records live there.
- Stripe processes donation payments. Stripe is PCI compliant and holds the payment-card data we never see.
- Googleis the identity provider when you choose to sign in. Google sees only that you’re signing into the Foundation; we receive only the basic profile information described above.
- Vercel (United States) hosts the website itself. Vercel processes web requests without running analytics for us.
- Resend delivers transactional emails, including donation receipts and board communications.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.
How long we keep it
- Account data stays for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete it, we remove it within 30 days.
- Donation recordsare kept as long as required by federal tax law (the IRS) and the California Attorney General’s Registry of Charitable Trusts, regardless of whether the donor’s account remains active.
- Server logs are retained for 90 days, then purged.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we have, correct anything that’s wrong, or delete your account data. Email us at the address below.
Anonymous donations are honored absolutely. If you mark your donation anonymous, we will not publish your name, the amount, or any identifying detail tied to the gift.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to ask us to delete it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below.
Children’s privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you discover that your child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll post the updated version here. For material changes — significant adjustments to what we collect or share — we’ll also email anyone with an active account on the Foundation’s services.
